January is proving a great month for Overwatch fans, as Blizzard ramp up the available skins and challenges available to players. Usually a quiet month for most games, Overwatch is getting off to a fun and content-packed start. Whether you’re interested in the pro leagues, or just want some cool new skins to dress your characters, Blizzard has you covered.
2019 is promising even more commitment, prizes and fun for the Overwatch League, to go along with this there are going to be extra goodies on hand for fans and pro players alike. In this latest update, for those who love the pro leagues, but haven’t found themselves part of their favourite teams just yet, there are new skins available in-game now. For 100 OWL tokens, you can support your favourite teams, not a bad price at all.
As the league has expanded this year, there are also several new additions to the available options. Skins for Atlanta Reign, Chengdu Hunters, Guangzhou Charge, Hangzhou Spark, Paris Eternal, Toronto Defiant, Vancouver Titans and Washington Justice are all now in game, so it’s never been easier show your support by wearing their themed skins!
If you enjoy a more casual approach, then there is a new skin for Ana up for grabs. Not only this but obtaining it doesn’t require you to drop money on loot boxes either! A new challenge mode, Ana’s Bastet Challenge is available from January 8th – 21st and racking up wins will accrue you some sweet Bastet themed loot. From player icons, poses and multiple sprays, right up to the epic Bastet skin for Ana herself. It’s a fun new mode and the winnings also make for some great incentives to give it a go.

If you don’t fancy taking on the challenge mode, don’t worry, simply winning casual matches will earn you victory spoils as well. Fortunate players that manage 3 wins can earn you a shiny player icon, 6 wins get them a victory post and if they can manage 9 victories in a week then that awesome Bastet skin can also be yours. There’s never been a better time to knuckle down and try a good few matches.
This is just the latest in new content Blizzard have added, the different challenges a limited time game-modes are proving extremely popular as well so it’s great to see the trend being continued. They’ve even continued to tie in with Twitch, as watching streamers between your matches can also earn you Bastet themed goodies. Five sprays are up for grabs just for watching streamers in your downtime, so really, there’s no excuse to miss out on the fun.
