The final week of the South Korean LCK regular season concludes at the end of the month. The top five teams are certain of their place in the playoffs, while Afreeca Freecs were recently eliminated. Four others are still in the race and compete for the final spot that is eligible for the playoffs. KT Rolster vs Nongshim RedForce and later on Fredit Brion vs Liiv Sandbox will determine the name of the teams qualified for the Spring Split playoffs.
KT Rolster vs Nongshim RedForce – Keeping the Dream Alive
Las week, KT Rolster had a small advantage over the pack but lost both games against Hanwha Life and Gen.G. They put up a fearsome fight, but at the end of the day they had to concede defeat. Another loss midweek would see them eliminated from the race, while sending Nongshim RedForce to the playoffs. Their opponents have one victory more and could still qualify with a win over Fredit Brion on Saturday.
Nongshim RedForce rebranded but they have a crushing head to head record. They won all five games played so far against KT Rolster and are yet to lose a single match against this opponent. We expect them to win once again, but because of the high-stakes, we believe that another sweep is unlikely. Unikrn offers odds of 3.00 on Nongshim RedForce to prevail at the end of a highly contested series with a score of 2-1.
Fredit Brion vs Hanwha Life – The Giant Killers Awake
Fredit Brion is no longer the only team to have defeated Damwon Gaming the season, after the World Champions fell to Gen.G. They are, nonetheless, the only team still scrambling for a playoff spot to brag about such an impressive performance. In order to play competitive League of Legends in April, they need to cause another upset and defeat Hanwha Life on Thursday.
Fredit Brion need back-to-back victories to qualify and the first match is arguably the most difficult one. This is a team in good form, with strong early game and we trust them to rise to the occasion. It helps a lot that Luckbox offers exceptionally high odds of 3.60 on them to win. Hanwha Life are the better team but they are already qualified for the playoffs and certain of the third-place, therefore less motivated.
